Thinking of complaining to UKVI.Whether it will effect my visa outcome?Frustrated  ... Atleast they should inform reason for delay or they should make a closure.Delhi students are getting decision on time.I think the Problem is with Chennai Embassy.Pathetic.

Yes you are.
I think most of us get the exact same e-mail, it is an automated message.
Mine said: "Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible. "

So it's alright there's nothing to worry about for this.
Good Luck!

I am stressing out these days with no sleeps... argh
I applied on 4th August in Hong Kong, thought everything will go alright like the 2 previous times I applied for student visa.
Then I received an email saying my online application is received in sheffield on 17th August.
It is a total 2 weeks for my application to reach Sheffield.
I am just wondering has anyone experiencing the same thing?
My intended of travel is 29th August, but reading all the threads on different forum makes me feel that I'll not be able to make it. :(

Like you I also applied on 4th August but from Lahore - Pakistan. My application was handed over to ECO on 13th August. I have not heard anything from UKVI till date now.
But it is understandable that huge applicants apply in this peak season and TIER 4 is not an only via category that UKVI deals with. So it takes time. I hope within 28-30 working days, an output will come out.

Hoping the best for you and every other student.

I have received below email 0n 21st july .what does it mean?? Did i miss something?? but i have scanned all my document in vfs chennai.

Dear <<MISSING DATA FOR:>>## First Name ## ***********,

Regarding Visa Application: GWF0********
For: <<MISSING DATA FOR:>>## First Name ## ******

Your online application has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.

If you have made a Settlement application (except for applications lodged in USA and Canada): you must ensure that your UK sponsor has sent all relevant supporting documentation to the UK Decision Making Centre in Sheffield. The documents should be arranged in this order: application form and relevant Appendix* (See below); English language evidence; relationship documents; maintenance documents; accommodation documents. If documents are not received a decision will be taken on the basis on the information that has been provided.

If you have already had your supporting documents scanned in at the Visa Application Centre, or if you have already sent them in to us, please ignore the request for documents.

Please note that UKVI aims to complete all Visit Visa applications within 15 working days and all Settlement Visa applications within 12 weeks of the application date. If it is not possible to complete your application within this timeframe a member of our team will contact you to explain why.

If you have paid for Priority Service, your application will be placed in front of the queue and assessed ahead of other non-priority visa applications. As indicated in the terms of service, the amount paid for the priority service, as well as the visa fees, is not refundable if the visa application is refused or if the decision is delayed.

We regret that we are unable to respond to enquiries asking about the status of any application. Any status enquiry should be made to the international enquiry service, details of which are on the GOV.UK website. Staff at Embassies, visa processing centres and visa application centres cannot assist with visa enquiries. You may also wish to view the current processing times for applications made in your country.

A further email will be sent to you to confirm when your application has been assessed and dispatched. If your application was made in a Visa Application Centre, the staff there will contact you when your documents are ready – please do not attend the Centre until you are requested to do so.

Please note that you are advised not to purchase flight tickets until you have secured a visa for travel to the UK.

*List of Appendices:
Appendix 1 - Children / Other Dependants
Appendix 2 - Spouse / Partner
Appendix 4 - Pre-flight family members of Refugees
Appendix 5 - Access Rights to Child

Further information is also available on the UK visas and immigration website.

Kind regards,

UK Decision Making Centre

Guys i submitted my document and fingerprints on 17th of July i receive auto e mail on 26th of July as they check my documents for decision but still i dont have any information about that. I called consulate and told them about my problem they told me "ur visa is processing...?" And decision m centre will send me e-mail about that. I paid 11 pound for this conversation god sake!!!

After that i sent an e mail to my school and they told me everybody have this problem from some centres but keep calm ur course will start on 22nd of September??? Why? I couldnt go to holiday because they hold my passport for 1 and half months. But especially they said on their web site 'they give a decision in 15 days %100 from my country' i applied from Istanbul-Turkey.

I will apply for my wife also i am waiting... what's the situation is that i cant believe my cousins applied for tourist visa and they got it in 2 weeks. Why i'm waiting i add all the documents they want also i have a valid visa until next month but they still hold my passport... It's exactly stupid.... unfortunately i have no idea what's going on there... If i guess it would be like this definetly i could apply for UStates visa...!!!! so sad.
