Our EEA PR application has been refused in 2016 and we have appealed. The last line of the decision states that "As a EU national you are not required to leave the United Kingdom as a result of this decision".
Hence my questions are.
1.If in case our appeal is also refused, will it effect our residency rights in UK and will we be able to apply for "settled status" on our own accord under the new system which the government will be bringing in to force in 2018 for EU nationals living in UK after BREXIT. Will our application for "settled status" be prejudiced because of PR refusal or losing the appeal.
The government has recently made clear that no EU nationals residing for 5 years in UK will be asked to leave and no families will be split.
2. Can we write a letter to Home office to review our application by another officer or their legal department before the appeal hearing date.

Everything is still up for negotiation but for the people already in UK I see no reason why you will not have right to stay except for criminal records which is not in your case.
Have you well prepared for you appeal? Also what was the reason for the refusal may be people on forum can advise you to re present your case instead of waiting for long appeal date.
It is really good to help and everyone deserve to be respected in life. Good luck.

The reason was that "We have failed to prove that we are financially dependent on our son"

Hello,
The appeal was heard on the matter of EEA permanent residence card and the judge decided in our favor, appeal allowed. The written decision will be soon sent by post.
Please can somebody provide correct contact details of Home-Office so that i can write to them to chase issuing of Permanent Residence Card after lapse of certain time.
The Home office department is very bureaucratic and unprofessional hence I have been advised to chase them after one month to obtain the Permanent Residence Card as the HO just do not take things forward and never get back easily after losing appeal.
The permanent residence card is urgently required in order to obtain certificate of naturalization.
