Looks like i aint the only one stuck in this soup.

Here goes my timeline, would be of great help if you guys could help me out :)

I am a new student applying for Bachelors. I choose the Standard processing time cause i had a lot of days left before Univ starts (now cursing myself why i did not take the priority)

24th July : Applied for tier 4 PBS student visa
26th July : submitted bio-metrics/had an interview/scanned my documents and my passport was taken
from "VFS CHENNAI"
8th August : received a mail from Sheffield saying my application is being prepared for consideration by
an ECO.
18th August : received another mail from Sheffield saying my visa application still remains under
consideration and that they are unable to process it within the 15 day time frame.

I am happy that they atleast sent me a mail on the 16th day. But its kinda frustrating to wait for god knows how long.

I would also like to add that after my interview the interviewer ended the conversation by saying "Enjoy the rest of your days" still debating with myself if that is positive or negative.
An update to my post. I collected my passport with succesfull tier 4 visa on 22rd August.
untill the previous day i was checking the "visa status" link with all the possible references i had but none of them worked.

Best of luck to the others here who are still waiting to get your visa. The day ain't far mates.

Received my visa on the 18th day
Did you receive any decision made email from visainfo.SHEFO prior to collecting your visa?
Nope, The last email i received from VISAINFO was saying that they are not able to process the visa in 15 days and might take longer.

Guys I recieved my visa today on the 31st working day. Like many of you, I too had no communication from UKVI. Even yesterday, when I called them they said my case was awaiting decision, and escalated it upon my request. I got a message couple of hours later to collect my passport.
31st working day for me but still nothing... :(
Did you try to contact them?

Yeah twice. "Ahh yeah, we've noted it, and we'll escalate your application. Our team will contact you soon blah blah" Generic answer given to everyone else

Well it depends. So you might get yours before ours.

I know quite a few who applied between 10th and 20th July that are still waiting, but I also heard a few who applied in late july already getting theres. So, it's just unpredictable and disorganised

Well we really don't know. It is really frustrating as there is no way to track the application or get the updates.
Have you tried the visa status tracker using the GWF number?
I just hope everyone here receive their decision soon.

No updates. I applied through VFS colombo (they say they are only a third party), but my passport is at Deputy High Commission Chennai, which I've tried emailing to without any success.

We're both on the exact same boat as I too applied on the 13th of July. There are loads of people who applied around that time who are still made to wait. I can understand the frustration learning that someone who applied after you getting their visa first. UKVI has messed this up pretty bad.

I guess people applying in India after 7th august are getting their decision faster. They are no longer scanning documents and sending it to Sheffield. I read the notice on VFS website.

They didnt even bother sending me an email to me after they escalated mine twice. So maybe it's a good thing. I don't even know anymore. I've lost hope.
