Can we open a new topic where we can discuss visa delay experiences not just the timelines?

Of course, you are free to open a new discussion topic.
Cheers

They have over 90% completed within time limits. Probably we are those unlucky ones who fell under non straight forward applications

Looks like we unlucky ones are from July. All August are done. Applied on 17th July. Missed my first week of college for sure.

I have read this with interest but not replied due to nto wanting to get spammed.

It's very helpful.

We've formally been notified that they're aware of it and are making exceptions. Your Universities would have been contacted directly with a triage system about your cases. In short, if your application has gone over the alloted time to it for your area, contact your University directly and ask for the case to be referred to their Premium Account Manager or Educator's Helpdesk. The backlog -is- clearing, but also be assured that if you do not receive your Visa in time for the September intake, the UKVI are ensuring that your immigration history remains clean by providing exact advice to your sponsors about what to do to report this.

Please don't spam your Universities for the above, wait the 15 days and then contact.

Timeline:

Applied - 19th july
ECO Mail - 31st July

Got message and call from VFS today. No email from UKVI.

Hi All,

I've been a silent reader in this post and I wanted to share my experience and timeline.
18th Jul: date of application, interview and biometrics at VFS Dhaka, Bangladesh
28th Jul: Application has been reached at the decision making centre in Sheffield
After waiting another month since my application, I decided to call the hotline and escalate my case
18th Aug: Date of escalation
15th Sep: Email statin that my application has been decided
1§7th Sep: text message from VFS Dhaka, passport is ready to collect

In my experience I found the hotline service pretty useless. I called them several times only to be received with the same answer that please wait for a response. During the last week however, I requested that my uni send an e-mail on my behalf explaining my delay and that the course starts on the 25th of September.

When I called the UKVI hotline on Tuesday, their response was that I should wait till Thursday evening and if I don't hear anything yet, I should call again on Friday morning. Once I called on Friday morning (15th of Sep). They said my application was still under process and that I should send in a complaint. However, in that evening I received an email stating that a decision has been made on my application on the 15th of September. So in my opinion it seems like the hotline may not have relevant information and as frustrating as it can be we all just have to wait. Now I will be collecting my passport tomorrow 7 days before my course starts, hopefully it'll be good news.
