Spouse Visa - Partners Proof of British Citizenship

I am applying for my first extension to my spouse visa. I left it really late and had to do it online/via post. I am now getting all of the documents ready to send in, however cannot figure out what document is needed to prove my partners british citizenship, aside from his passport (which he needs to travel for business on).

Would a certified copy of his passport suffice? There is no way we can send it in for 8 weeks or longer (I am already having to miss a few business trips sending mine in and waiting for a new visa).

He also does not have a copy of his birth certificate but I'm sure he could apply to get a new one issued.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When does your current visa expire?

A certified copy should be fine with a letter explaining his travel.

It expired last week (6th of August) but I put my application in on the 1st.

Great, I'll get a certified copy sent with a cover note and perhaps proof of travel plans.
