British citizenship

Post by Nav1362 » Wed Aug 09, 2017 2:07 pm

Hi there,
My sister is a British national (overseas) currently living in hong kong . She holds permanent Hong Kong id & British citizens with British passport. She is planning to apply for British citizenship for her son. Can she do the application from Hk or does she have to come to uk, work certain years and then apply?
What is the proper procedure?
Also how can I use your service in this matter please.

Regards,

British National (Overseas) status is not transmissible and cannot be passed on to the next generation. Although if the son does not have Chinese or any other nationality- is he ethnically Chinese?- then it's possible he could be a British Overseas citizen which carries a potential right to registration as a British citizen.

What does her British passport say for Nationality: British Citizen or British National (Overseas)?
