Extending Vignette Sticker visa for one week

Post by shiney » Mon Aug 14, 2017 11:55 am

Hi Gurus,

My family was issued a visa on 06 Aug 2017 and the vignette sticker expires on 08 Sept 2017.

I had already booked my tickets for 14 Sept(to be frank i was not fully aware of this one month travel rule at the time of doing my bookings).

So if i change the flight now the difference is coming over 1500 pounds( this is for 4 people) as it is a holiday season and there is no easy availability.

Is it possible to extend the vignette visa for a week ?. How long does it takes ?. Anyone had gone through the same situation can you please share your views.

Kind Regards,
Shiney

You have to apply for to transfer or a new 30 day valid vignette, costs £169 each.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... l-vignette

The 30 day visa validity is not new, been in place for a couple of years now.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I did an error at the time of booking i.e. instead of Aug i booked for Sept and now that is costing me much :(

Ya we are applying the visa after 3 years hence was not sure of this.

The link provided says 'If the applicant has been granted a 30 day vignette and fails to enter the UK within the 30 day validity period, they must make an application for a replacement 30 day vignette by applying for a Transfer of Conditions.'

However my condition is a bit different , my visa is still valid and i just need to extend the duration. Is it okay if i make an applicaiton for replacement of 30 day vignette now or i will have to wait untill the current visa duration of one month expires.

If you did not state a future intended travel date (i.e UKVI got the date wrong), then you will have to apply for a new 30 day visa. I don't believe you can just apply for a one week extension.
