Someone on another forum posted this as their timeline:

"Visa payment- 23rd August
Biometrics- 30th August
Received Application at Sheffield- 31st August
Collect your passport- 11th September
VAC location- Islamabad, Pakistan.
And the absolute weird thing? It was a standard application and not priority. Visa granted!
Best of luck, applicants"

I feel like their backlog has finally cleared up and they should be issuing our visas very soon :)

no in my opinion it is really useful. you can get a better idea on the progress on your app as well as escalate/etc. strongly recommended, it is expensive but it still helps imo

Do you think it's okay to call them up everyday? My course starts next Monday so I really need quick updates

Thanks guys.. Waiting for VFS to get in touch now. I'll keep you posted.

Good luck to all. But I suggest you all call UKVI one last time, cos a lot of decisions seem to have been made over the weekend.
Congratulations!

When was your CAS used?

Congrats Mugatiya!!! Hopefully you'll get it soon!! After seeing this, I called them and they still said it's awaiting a decision. But the university said the CAS is used so there's that at least.

My husband and daughters applied settlement visas and had biometrics done 6th June.
Still no decision and paid priority fee for 3 applications.
Rang them tonight and looks like they have escalated it so hopefully not much longer very frustrating!

Hello Everyone, I am following these posts from more than a month ago.As I got email and sms from Gerry's to collect my passport.Tomorrow I am going to collect my passport.I am going to share my timeline with you guys:-
Application centre:-Islamabad,Pakistan.
Online Application:-18th July 2017.
Course starting date:11th September 2017.
Biometrics and Interview:-27th july 2017.
ECO Assigned:-4th August 2017.
Decision is delayed:-18th August 2017.
escalated and called UKVI several times and every time they took all of my details saying that my application is being escalated but the funny thing about them is I emailed them a week ago and today I received the email that my application is being escalated again. So guys please don't waste your money by calling UKVI or emailing them. They will make a decision whenever they want to.July applicants are now getting visas quickly in these days.So don't worry. You all will get visa soon As I have waited for a long time and I can understand your feelings.

Hey everyone, I've applied for my visa on the 29th of August from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. At the visa application centre they've told me the standard processing time for this location would be 10 days, I've received confirmation from UKVI Sheffield on the 30th of August and haven't heard from them since. Today I rang UKVI up and they said visa processing times have been extended/delayed up to 30 working days and there's nothing they can do. My course starts on the 25th, CAS number is still marked as assigned and not used. UKVI also said that they've employed lots of new staff to deal with the tier 4 backlog, so hopefully we'll all get our visas soon. I haven't waited for half as long as you guys but this waiting game is creating so much anxiety :( good luck everyone!!
