Switch to FLRM from Tier General Dependent Visa

Post by hariprasad » Tue Sep 12, 2017 2:39 pm

Hi All,

Greetings!..

Can you please help me out on below queries.
I am holding British passport(via Tier 1 General HSMP 5 years stay) and my wife and baby are holding Tier 1 General Dependent visa(2015-2017) will be expire in next 1 month.

Due to some personal emergency they went to India and stayed around 1 year in India and they are back to UK in last month.

So, now i thought of applying FLRM visa instead of Tier 1 Dependent General dependent visa for my dependent,
is it okay to switch FLRM from Tier 1 General Dependent ? if yes, can you please provide us the FLRM visa process steps(application form link, fees, requirements etc?

It would be great and really appreciate your help on this.

Many Thanks,
Hari

Why do you want to change them to FLR(M) and reset their clock to zero for ILR??

They can continue on PBS Dependent till they reach 5 years residence and qualify for ILR.

Thank you for your reply.

As my wife left for more than 6 months her previous stay in the UK and also due to visa cost i would like to switch to FLRM instead of Tier 1 General |dependent for my wife and child as anyway still they need to stay continuous 5 years to get ILR.

Please suggest me, can I go ahead with FLRM from Tier 1 general dependent?

Many Thanks,
Hari

There is no absence limit for Tier 1 dependents and any absence does not break her continuous residence.

They would only need one extension for 3 years based on the limited date information you have provided.

If you want them to start from zero with a new 5 years residence period and lose the time they have already spent in the UK then you can apply for FLR(M) if you wish to.

Thanks dear,

Yes I would like to apply FLRM due to fees constraint and anyway my wife was in India almost 14 months out of these 2 years.

please help me out on application form filling,
1) is it required to maintain funds in my bank account for FLRM?
2) I am confused with section 7A and 7B, is it applicable for me ? or should I fill these sections?

1. No. You only need to provide evidence of meeting the financial/income requirement.

2. 7A.
