NHS surcharge refund

Post by vivekp10000 » Sat Sep 16, 2017 12:08 pm

Dear all,

My wife currently has Tier 2 dependent visa until Apr 2018. We have earlier paid NHS health surcharge for 3 years covering period until Apr 2018 when she initially applied for Tier 2 dependent visa.
In weeks time I will be applying for ILR under SET (LR), and my will be applying as my dependent using FLR (M) once I have my outcome.
Under FLR (M) as we will be expected to pay NHS surcharge again, is there anyway I can apply for refund of the period overlapping for this period which I have earlier paid. If there is any way for me to avoid paying twice for overlapping period, please advice.

No not reallly. You paid for the length of visa that was granted. It is your choice to apply ILR LR which means you wife needs to switch before her current visa expires or travels out of the UK.

If she has no travel plans, apply for her FLR(M) in March then.
