How to prepare for Spouse Visa?

Post by Noori » Sat May 27, 2017 7:29 pm

Hi all,

I am looking at applying for my Husbands visa who is overseas in Pakistan in the next 3 months. I am very new to the whole visa thing so wanted to get some advice and tips to look out for. I have read the guidance documents and believe that i meet the financial requirement and have a genuine relationship with hubby.

Now, i dont know if i could apply for the visa without a solicitor as i dont want to risk it but if i choose to stick with a solicitor, how can i pick a good one?

Husband and i were introduced by a friend and would communicate through video call and messages everyday. After 4 years, we got married and spent 2 months together. I then went back after a year for 2 weeks. However, i dont want my case to get refused so if i provide any type of evidence of our relationship since the start is this ok? I have a lot but anyone could tell me what is the best way, I will be very grateful.

Thank you very much in advance

Members are not permitted to post solicitor details and you would have to find one if you choose to use, though it is not necessary to use one.

Hello CR001, thank you for your reply. Sorry, i meant to say i dont know whether to choose the solicitor route but im afraid of applying myself as i dont want to miss anything out.

I guess i will go with a solicitor to be on the safe side. But when does everyone start preparing for the case and getting all docs ready?

The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

My supporting documents and advise needed

Post by Noori » Sat Sep 23, 2017 1:24 pm

Hello lovely people!

Hoping you are all very well.

So, after months and months of hard work and stress I have finally come to the stage where I will be submitting my husbands visa application. Before I do, I want to ensure I am not missing out on anything and therefore require your help for some advise and guidance.

Here's my list of supporting documents which I will submit to Sheffield:

1. online application copy - printed and signed by my husband.
- Visa and Nhs payment receipt = still to receive as i need to submit the online form.

2. financial evidence :
-appendix 2
-6 payslips
-6 bank statements
-a letter from the bank stating my account number, funds with my name and address
-p60

3. employment evidence:
-contract of employment
-letter of employment
-solicitor letter (still to obtain)

4. applicant evidence:
- applicant cover letter
- passport copy
-tb and English certificates

5. sponsor evidence:
-sponsor cover letter
-sponsorship form SU07 signed
-verified copies of passport

6. relationship evidence:
-marriage certificate translation along with original and a attested letter by the union council
- proof of relationship - communications/wedding pics
-birthday cards
-flight confirmation - to show that me and my family travelled to Pakistan
-western union money transfer receipts

7. accommodation evidence:
-letter from parents giving permission - signed
-tenancy agreement from housing association company
-housing inspection report - there is no over crowding
-utility bill in parents name
-dads driver license as passport is expired along with my birth certificate - this is to prove that my father and i are related. Driver licence has been attested.

I am hoping that I have covered everything but if there is anything missing please please let me know, I will be very much grateful thank you in advance.

Also, i am stuck.. i got my 6th payslip on 31st of august. I prepared the online form to the best of my knowledge BUT the immigration lawyer i was hoping to get my documents checked has gone on annual leave so i am trying to find someone else. As its nearing the end of this month, my payslips will be 28 days on the 28th Sept and bank statements will be 28days on the 4th Oct. i am in a dilemma has i have spent this month gathering documents as they were only available to me after i got my 6th payslip. However, I am trying to get hold of someone early next week. As soon as a solicitor has confirmed that i have everything i need, i will aim to submit and pay for the visa before the 28th. But will this be ok? I read that the documents are required to be under 28 days on the day of submission. What do you guys think i should do?

Please let me know. Thank you very much in advance.

Once you pay your application fee you will have to book a biometrics appointment. Where your husband will have to hand in his passport along with a signed copy of the form 'Applicant Biographic Details and Travel Date'. Also when he attends the VFS centre, he will have to a copy of the appointment letter/email.
If you can get a date/before the 28th, you might just get in. Or wait until you have Septembers payslip.
Also are you submitting (as evidence) your Urdu Nikah Nama?
If you are, as it is not in English, you will have to submit a certified translated copy.
Also what evidence have you got of communication? (Telephone calls, instant messaging, emails etc.)
I don't think you need the form, SU07. As far as I'm aware that's only if you are bringing over a parent etc. I don't think it applies to a spouse. (Hopefully someone else can clarify)

Anyway good luck, it can be very stressful...

The documents above are NOT required. a) a solicitor or solicitor letter is not required and has no influence on the application. Only makes you poorer. Form SU07 is ONLY for adult dependent relatives, i.e. parents/grandparents.
