Hi guys my wife and I are planning to apply for a spouse visa for me to join her in the UK so we can finally live together.
My wife (sponsor ) is not working but she is on disability benefits ( esa and pip) we read on the home office website that she's might be exempt from showing the financial threshold because her disability that make her unable to work.
We don't really know what documents we need to supply to show our exepotion or how to demonstrate that .
Any advice would be greatly recieved

Thankyou for your answer I have two questions please . Does the applicant need a police or criminal records or that's not required ? And about the bank statements for sponsor who is on esa and pip. Do we need 6 months bank statements showing the benefits being paid Into the account or just one month bank statements ?

Official letter from DWP of the sponsors PIP entitlement
official ESA entitlement letter
6 months bank statements showing PIP and ESA benefits going into the account
all above documents must show name and address of sponsor

Thank-you so much for the response. I still hope you clear some things out .my wife (sponsor )has a 2 year old daughter and she gets child benefits for her. The child has been living with her grandma for the past year 1.do we have to mention the child benefit on the appendix 2 ?
I understand that the sponsor has to show a balance of 114 pounds a week .but we were told that if you have a child you need to show a balance of 114 +17+66 pounds each week .
Here's my wife's benifits :
Pip= 125 a week
Esa =176 pounds a week
Child benifits = 83 pounds a week
She's living in a council owned house and she gets her rent paid for her
Council tax bill is also paid for her
2.de we qualify for adequate maintenance ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Just pointing out a potential mistake .
Are you sure £83 a week?
It's for 4 weeks if it's for 1 child.
Secondly she may not be entitled if child doesn't live with her

About the child benifits yes I'm sure it's 83 a week but that includes child tax and child benifit. And yes the child has been living with her grandma but the child benefit is paid to my wife's ( child birth mother )bank which she then gives to her mother to look after the child so the benifits are gonna show on my wife's bank statements
