Visa for a EU Family member

I live in France with a non-EU passport, but have a 10 year residence permit. My wife and daughter are French. I want to travel to the UK and wanted to know about the following?
1. Do I need a visa to travel to UK?
2. Do I need to pay for the fees if i need a Visa for UK?
3. What are the key documents that need to be submitted?

What exactly does your residence card say?

Is it an article 10 or 20 residence card?

Are you planning to travel to the UK on your own?

It is a 10 year card saying "Resident of France and Family Member of EU National"

I will be travelling with my daughter and wife both of whom are french nationals.

Has your wife ever lived or work in another memberstate?

You will need an EEA family permit if they are accompanying you. Such permit are issued free of charge.

However if you arrive with them at Calais, you will be entitled to a single entry stamp at port.

I will see how I can get the EEA family permit.

However, can you just clarify what would happen at Calais? Is their a document that is required for the single entry stamp at the port? I assume this is irrespective of my passport.

Thanks Richard. Do i need to print out any other documents e.g. the European regulation that allows this? I would hate to go to the border with my 4 year old daughter on a planned trip, only to return because i didnt have enough paper work.
