ILR requirements

Post by Msyd » Mon Oct 09, 2017 11:24 pm

Soo...I have lived and worked for 5 years and sue ILR from Jan 17. I recently read up rules and came to understand that:
1. I need to take a secure English test ?
but I had taken an IELTS before arriving In the UK as student, I completed a masters taught in English, I have been working here for about 5 years so do I still need to give a SEcure English test?
2. I also need to Life in the UK test too?
wasn’t this a part of a application to naturalise / become a citizen?
3. I need a salary of 35K or upwards?
I am short of few hundreds, would this still matter?
Pls someone help clear this :(

SET(O) has all the answers regarding ILR requirements
1. I need to take a secure English test ?
but I had taken an IELTS before arriving In the UK as student, I completed a masters taught in English, I have been working here for about 5 years so do I still need to give a SEcure English test?
No, send Masters degree

2. I also need to Life in the UK test too?
wasn’t this a part of a application to naturalise / become a citizen?
You need to pass life in the Uk test for ILR
3. I need a salary of 35K or upwards?
I am short of few hundreds, would this still matter?
That is minimum for Tier 2. Are you on Tier 2 General ?
Read SET(O) form for more details

Thank you very much for your response.

My job is digital marketing and I read you could have a different threshold if your salary meets the ‘relevant salary’ listed in ‘codes of practice’. There is no digital marketing specific listing in this doc, it’s quite broad so I am confused.

I have a few more questions if you could be so kind :
1. Does the life in the UK test come with a validity? can I appear a month in advance before application? Asking to make sure I can retake the test in case I fail it?
2. Do I need to provide any bank statements to support my application? I cannot find this stayed anywhere but I have had in the past had to, so I wondered ? better to be sure than sorry I guess
2. I am looking to move out of my currently rented place, and likely to be moving to a friends place during the time of application. There is a finance section in the seto form where I am asked to state my living situation and what rent I am paying. If I mention above in ‘other’ would it impact my application negatively??

That should be all, really appreciate this!
Thanks

If you do not earn £35,000pa, your ILR will likely fail. This is the minimum mandatory level for ILR.
1. Does the life in the UK test come with a validity? can I appear a month in advance before application? Asking to make sure I can retake the test in case I fail it?

LIUK test does not expire. You can take the test at any time but it must be at least 7 days before you apply for ILR.
2. Do I need to provide any bank statements to support my application? I cannot find this stayed anywhere but I have had in the past had to, so I wondered ? better to be sure than sorry I guess
Yes, last 3 months should suffice. You also need to submit at least the latest payslip you have. This is to check you earn the minimum required for ILR.
2. I am looking to move out of my currently rented place, and likely to be moving to a friends place during the time of application. No, HO don't care where you live.

If that is what your visa states. You have not posted your visa category and our responses have been based on the assumption that you are Tier 2 General.

Thanks
The more questions I get answers for? There questions are raised in my head!

1. So 3 month bank statements are fine, I believe the minimum amount to be under £1000? Or is it more?

2. Do I also need to submit 3 month payslips?

1. Yes should be fine. There is no 'maintenance fund' requirement for ILR.

2. You can if you wish but it must be at least one and the most recent proving you earn the required income.
