Execeptional talent stage 1, tech city, no confirmation of receipt yet

Hi all,

I submitted my techcity application on the 5th of October and posted to sheffield on the 6th, the post got to them on the 9th (3 days ago) but i am yet to receive any notification from sheffield or Techcity that my application was received. Anyone else had this experience? should i be worried? Thank you.

Hi Tonto,

I sent my files on 28th Aug by Royal Mail, and received the confirmation on 31st Aug that they received it and have forwarded to TechCity UK. Between this time there was no communication. It seems they only notify when they forward your application to Techcity.

I'm in similar situation - has been about a week since the application was delivered to the HO, still no confirmation that is was passed to Tech Nation. Payment was processed and appeared on my statement.

Anybody had similar issue? Any advise on whether to and how to reach out to HO or Tech Nation?

Update: I got the confirmation from home office that they have passed my application to tech nation for their recommendation. Took a week, but the email is finally in my inbox.

Could you please post the courier address where you sent the document? I only have P.O. Box which does not work for courier.

I used Royal Mail to deliver the documents and yes its a PO box number in Sheffield.

Thank you for your reply. I got confirmation from Tech City that I dont need to submit the physical copies as they already have online application on younoodle. I did contact Home Office for the same but not received a confirmation. Just checking if you have received your endorsement yet. This will clarify the processing time.

@techtalent1 - I am still awaiting for the final result. However, in the application it was clearly mentioned that you need to send the hardcopies withing 15 days at the Sheffield address (Home Office - not TechNation).

Yes, I did specifically ask them as the courier address is missing from the form. I searched a lot, checked all the forums I could and then finally emailed both the Home office and tech nation. tech nation reply was immediate and he said they recently changed to online application so no physical copies needed however home office is not confirming this yet. I did receive a reply for my email from the home office but it was vague and not talking about the question itself. So I think I will send the document to the address given in the email signature to make sure I dont lose on this. It is very confusing at the moment as the guidelines are not clear and home office is not confirming the same.

Yes, It is confusing. Tech nation confirmed that I do not need to send the hard copies to home office but because of the confusion I am going to do it anyway. They did not give courier address so it is difficult to post from outside UK. Anyway, I am going to courier my documents to the address which was mentioned in the email signature of the home office email.

Even on Home Office's website, it is clearly mentioned that the documents have to reach UK.

If you are not in the UK, try sending a courier to this PO Box address and you will know what I am saying. Courier services need physical address which is missing from this form.

Don't use courier. Indian post officce's registered post is cheaper and very reliable service. I got few documents from India via it and it reached me here in UK in 5 working days.

Just an update - I emailed TechNation directly and they did confirm that applicants no longer need to post their documents in. It seems like they're reworking their entire application process and also moving away from YouNoodle. Expect changes by the end of the month.

On track and trace, shows as Signed for RM Relay. Did it take anyone more than 5 working days to receive the confirmation email that the application has been forwarded to TechNation?

Yes, it took 2 and half weeks for them before they could refer my application to the TechNation. So it looks like they are super busy. Also, if you are worrying about the delivery then email them to ask if they have received the documents from you. They will reply as I did the same thing.

For future reference - I never received confirmation from TN or HO, my lawyer sent the documents tracked so we were able to see through Royal Mail that they were delivered the next day. Got my lawyer to chase them and we received confirmation in 8-9 days.
