HI All,
I know this only affects a few people in this forum but I am surprised how many hurdles the home office has put before naturalisation. The hurdle of interest in my post is good character requirement in reference to drink driving. It is my understanding that a drink driving conviction is spent after 5 years.
After reading the guidance notes. see an extract below from page 8:-
' Drink driving offences must be declared. If you have any endorsements on your
driving licence you must access the DVLA website to download and print a summary
of your record and send it with your application. A driving conviction may not be
disregarded despite any penalty points being removed from your driving licence.'
DR10 endorsement stays on the driving licence for 10 years. Is the guidance basically informing anyone with a drink driving conviction they have to wait for 10 years before they apply for naturalisation. I have to say the guidance is helpful because nobody wants to waste £1300. Has anyone with this conviction been successful in their application.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
