Continuous residence before application

Post by causeway45 » Wed Oct 25, 2017 6:04 pm

Hi all
My wife and I are about to apply for her Irish citizenship, based on living in N Ireland. We have the number of days (over 1200) in the past 3 years (with no longer than 4 weeks out of NI per year) but we're a bit stumped at the continuous residence rule. It states 365 days of continuous residence immediately preceding the date of application, but is this rule based on the dates on stamps in her passport, in which case, she has one stamp from Ireland, and an EEA Residency Card form the UK to allow her to be with me in N Ireland. The rest are from our visits to her country each year).

As I read elsewhere, the Online Residence Calculator does not apply to applications from N Ireland, due to the stamp issue, but is it the same case with the 365 day rule too?

Thanks guys.
