How 'other' are the non-required documents?

Post by stevesyjames » Fri Oct 27, 2017 2:29 pm

Hi all

Just putting in PR for me (EEA) and non-EEA wife. One thing I found odd about the PR online application form - on the checklist at the end, they have 'Required' and 'Other' documents, but they don't let you submit the application until you have checked all of the boxes saying you'll provide each of these things. Is that how 'Other' works, where have to agree to send everything?

Obviously the photos, ID documents and things like payslips, P60s need to be sent, but how vital are things not relevant to the qualifying period (ie work done after the qualifying period finished)? I'll send along enough documents to show that I have been resident since acquiring PR as a worker from 2009-2014, but has anyone else found the HO asking for further proof than that?

One example: under 'Other' they are asking for a birth certificate for our child, who is not included in this application as she has a British passport and was born a citizen as the child of an EEA citizen after I presented my documents to the Passport Office. Should I send this or just state in the cover letter that I am not since she's a British citizen?

Thanks in advance!
