Claiming benefits for Child born oustide UK

Hi

I have a question. My wife is currently in NON_EU country but she has spouse visa( in 2017). If I have a baby who is born outside UK, Can I get benefits for child ( Child beenfits e.g $20 etc)

Or does he/she have to be in UK? (he/she has british passport)

The child needs to be in the UK.
