Hello Fellow Immigration Family!
as the title suggest my spouse has finally been given the stamp on their passport. Now, the problem lies is that I'm in the process of changing jobs and taken a small break in between the two jobs. I had planned to change jobs much earlier but the spouse visa took 3x the normal length.. so I was worried as to what would happen.
the break is less than 8 working days, and my new job puts me very comfortably above the threshold, my query here is the following.
1) I know from previous searches the IO usually asks the spouse in question what their signification other does, in this circumstance, should they just state that my spouse works for 'newest-employer' as a 'profession'. Does the IO have any information on my job or circumstance?
2) This was pre-booked a long time ago, and the visa came without much notice and with a 30-day validity that my spouse has to travel. I have a training program that lasts ten days abroad. Due to conflicting plans, I'll be away when my spouse arrives, I'm still contactable by phone but won't be at the airport to pick my spouse up. My family will be picking my spouse up and my spouse will be carrying all necessary paperwork needed for arrival: acceptance letter, TB Cert, Marriage Certificate, address of stay and a few thousand pounds (in their foreign account) with a bank statement. Should I cancel my travel plans at a considerable financial cost?
3) as the application was made early this year the TB Cert has passed it's six month validity, is a new one required if they are from a country which requires it?
My spouse is a very well spoken person so I don't have any cause to worry about miscommunication (hurray for British schools abroad..), but I would like to know of your experiences so that I may have some foresight.
Apologies if this is in the wrong section, search results didn't come up with much regarding 1+2 hence the post.
Sincerely,
Oldschool_brit.
