self employment income

Post by wix » Thu Nov 23, 2017 4:56 pm

Hi All

I'm from England and I'm currently 3 moths in to a job here, waiting until 6 months is up to apply for a visa for my Vietnamese wife who is back in Vietnam with our baby daughter, who being a British citizen, means the financial threshold i need to meet is £18,600. I'm working full time and have a salary of £16,500 and i also rent out a house i own which has annual salary of £6000, so i meet the financial requirement.

My questions is that I have managed to get some freelance graphic design work and i'm just unsure about payment - whether i should be just paid in to my main bank account or setup a new account. I'm also unsure about self employment income and whether it can be included in my overall income? and how that works?

Any advice would be appreciated
