Hi all, this is my first time writing here. I am 17 years old turning 18 next year March and I recently got an apprenticeship and my boss asked me for my information. I gave him my passport, BRP, and National Insurance number. On my BRP, it says I am "PBS Dependant", "Work Permitted", and "Leave to Remain". He noticed that it expires on the 13th of April 2019, which is during my 18 month apprenticeship period. However, next year April, my family can apply for ILR as we've lived in the UK for 5 years. My boss requires a written confirmation that:
- we as an employer are not required to become your sponsor
- you can freely work for us as an apprentice employee and
- we have no reporting or any other obligations to any organisation (e.g. UKBA)
and I was wondering where can I get information on this from an official source?
If you guys can help me find a clause or something that proves this, that would be incredibly helpful as I can then proceed to sign my contract with my boss and training providers.
