CHanging employers on a tier 2 general

Post by Wab13 » Wed Oct 04, 2017 10:11 pm

Hello,

Can anyone please advise on the process to switch employers on a tier 2.

I have an employer who is keen to take me on, they are starting the process to obtain their own sponsor licence.

Will I have to return home again to make the swap/ application? (From aus) - my understanding is that the fees will be the same as the last time I paid? Or is some of this except as I still have until 2020 on my current BRP.

Any other info would be great!

they will need licence, complete rlmt, un-restricted cos issued to u, u applying for visa again with all fees applicable.
U can apply within uk.
I would suggest, do not resign till u get the new visa.

Switching to a new employer on tier 2 visa.

Post by Wab13 » Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:25 pm

Hi there,

I have a job offer from a new company who are happy to sponsor me. They need to apply for a sponsor licence in their own right first.

What are the steps to going about obtaining a sponsor licence and then assigning a cos to someone already with a cos/ tier 2? And what follows after.

Do they aissign a cos once they have a licence even if I already have one with current employer. I have a 10 week notice period and am hesitant to quite before its “official”.

Any help would be appreciated.

They will need to send the Sposorship Licence application with a lot of documents such as audited annual accounts, evidence of Employers' Liability Insurance, bank accounts etc. It can take a number of weeks for this to be approved.

Then, if approved, the Level 1 user will be sent log in details for the Sponsorship Management System where they can assihg a CoS to you. It will be a CoS for Tier 2 (change of employment). I think they can request the unresticted CoS during the Licence application so these should be available straight away.

To assign the CoS they will need to confirm they carried out the RLMT (takes 28 days so they might want to get started with this while the Licence application is pending, if they haven't already), what SOC code the job is, the job description, the salary etc. and they should make sure all is in line with the rules so problems dont arise when you apply for your visa or later on. If they haven't done this before they should probably take some advice.

Once they assign you the CoS you can then apply for Tier 2 visa. I would advise you don't resign until you get this visa.

This.

I would second aokamgba, do not resign / leave your current job until you have the new visa in hand.
