Naturalization Application & Police Caution

Hello
I have booked an appointment with ncs for applying next week. I was warned for shoplifting in 2012 but I paid a fine and apology letter to the shop. The police officer said that they will not pursue if I paid the fine. I was not goven anything written but they made me sign some forms. Was this a formal Caution and do I need to declare it in my AN form as it is more than 3 yrs old.
Please help as confused
