Tier-2 dependent get tier-2 general

I'm on tier 2 ICT and my wife and childrens are on dependent visa.
If my wife find a job under Tier 2 General as a secondary school science teacher, from within the UK, please if someone can answer my questions:- do I have to resign from my company before I switch over to tier 2 General dependent or once I switched over.

Does cooling off period applies to both of us. Does it mean we all have to go back to our home country and wait for 12 months before we apply tier 2 General.

No you don't. But you must inform your employer once you are granted another category visa as your ICT visa will be cancelled.

Cooling off period DOES NOT apply to PBS Dependents applying for Tier 2 General main applicant visas from home country. You can switch to PBS Dependent within the UK once your spouse returns with her Tier 2 General visa, no 'cooling off period' to switch to Dependent visa.
