UK Ancestry Visa through parents not grandparents

Post by jonnyc » Tue Dec 05, 2017 2:06 pm

Hi,

I have a friend looking to apply for a UK ancestry visa from Australia. He is 25, Australian passport holder but was born in the UK. His parents are Australian and were unmarried at the time he was born. His Dad was also born in the UK. His grandparents were born outside of the UK though.

Can he qualify for an Ancestry Visa just via his and his Dad's place of birth and not his grandparents? If not, what would be the best visa to apply for? He's coming to play amateur cricket for 6 months and will be wanting to work as well.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I've been looking high and low for an answer and have come up with nothing so far!

Thanks in advance

No. It clearly states it is through Grandparents and he would have to prove the link down to his parent(s) and himself with birth/marriage certificates.
If not, what would be the best visa to apply for?
Is his father a British Citizen by birth??
