Can I register my child’s birth with only her mother’s ops number?

Post by Egoyibo » Thu Dec 07, 2017 12:32 pm

I am new to this forum and I am quite impressed with the relevant discussions I have read. I have an issue and I would like opinions how to go about it. I have a child and haven’t been able to register her birth cos I don’t have residency in Ireland nor a pps number. My partner, my child’s mother, is EU and has a pps. She is been living and working in Ireland for 2 years now. Am I able to register my child’s birth with only her mother’s pps number?

If the child is born in the Republic of Ireland, then the birth must be registered.

Whether or not parents have a PPS number and whether or not the child is an Irish citizen.
