Agreed. At the very least, proceedings should be initiated before she leaves inorder for the question of retention of residence to be engaged.

I may be wrong but from your membership flag I can assume that you are from Morocco. Home office is not a place you can just walk into and start to explain things and for your own benefit never try to deal with HO from a difficult angle.

As Obei has advised, if she leaves without you completing the divorce you will be stuck for at least two years if for any reason she refuses to sign/acknowledge the two letters regarding the petition that will be send to her. Unless you paid the local authority to hand deliver the letters and besides can you afford to pay UK council for the service outside UK?
