It is your Document Certifying PR. On what date did you attain PR as stated in the letter you would have received??carodavide wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 1:54 pmHi All,
After some hours filling the forms I am now navigating through the papers that go with it.
What is "proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions"? What documents do you use for it?
I'm an EU citizen who recently got the permanent residence card with the sole purpose of applying for citizenship.
You would have received the letter and the PR card. That is the 'free from immigration time restrictions' equivalent document.carodavide wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 10:10 amThank you very much for your quick answer
On the list it says the following
6)(Name of Applicant)'s proof of Nationality
You must include your:
* passport or EEA national identity card
* UK permanent residence card
* evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions
Do you mean "evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions" is the letter that came with the UK permanent residence card?
It was sent in 22nd March 2018 but it says the date I'm deemed to have acquired permanent residence is 05 April 2016.
You don't have to use NDRS no. It is useful though as if you do, you can apply for the British passport at the same time, which is not possible if you apply by post on your own.nozzer123 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 3:16 pmThe thread is a life and time saver!!
2 basic questions, I hope some EEA national who has successfully completed the AN application online can answer:
1) Is it really necessary to use one of the document checking services??? If I complete everything online, give my biometrics, get both referee forms signed and post these alongside all of the other papers from the `required list`?
2) For EEA nationals, is it 100% required to send my passport? Because we have both passports&ID cards + it says that as form of identity I can also add drivers license (used for Life in the UK test) and Permanent Resident Card?
Thank you a lot guys!

2. Not sure about the passport/ID card. I believe ID card is fine however HO could ask for your passport at any time and you will need to send it, which will delay your application.nozzer123 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 5:14 pmThank you CR001!!CR001 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 3:19 pmYou don't have to use NDRS no. 2) Regarding the passport as proof of identity, as an EEA national who has both passport&ID, can I just use my ID card? Especially as it was accepted for my PR application before?
3) The passport application can be picked up in the post office, filled by myself and added to my application when in NDRS (if so)?
Can`t thank you enough for your help!
Thank you again! And the final question, I promise, I read the thread from 1st to final page but no such question - bio-metric data has to be submitted in a designated PO near your address? Or can it be any that provides this service?CR001 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 5:24 pm2. Not sure about the passport/ID card. My citizenship confirmation letter and documents arrived on the 22nd June and my ceremony invitation - on 27th June. The former states to allow up to three weeks for the ceremony invitation to arrive. Hope that helps!nick2018 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 3:38 pmHas anyone who has recently received their approval letter and ceremony letter confirm how many days it was between the approval letter being received and then the ceremony letter being received. Most of the forum timelines say both received same day or single letter. But this dosen't seem to be the rule for everyone.
Thanks. Makes me breath a bit easy . You just need PR CARDAdamantium wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 7:30 amHi,
I'm a EEA applying online for UK citizenship. There is a question in application that I don't get: Are you able to provide a biometric residence permit (BRP) card with this application?
I do have a PR card but I've never heard of BRP card, is it the same thing?
Also there is no mention about signed photos in my checklist, how many do I need? Should they be signed and dated by my referees?
Do you have a number that I could reach them on? Tried calling on 03001232253 and all I got was an email address.
shakeerahT wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2017 9:45 pmHi, daisyd the photos required will be attached to the printed referees declarations. in this case, you ll need two passport photos, because you will print out one declaration per referee.daisyd wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2017 2:02 pm
Hey, shakeerahT thank you for the information, I am just filling in the application myself as well - super easy but got stuck on the attaching of the documents, more specifically the photograph.
Can I assume you send over a photograph of yourself with the full name and date of birth on the back as required in the paper application? Couldn't see anything mentioning the photograph in the Document Checklist at the end of the application.
For those that are choosing the online application route, this is the 'Documents' part of the application that I see - sharing this info as tax hoping this helps!
Please note I have numbered the above for clarity, however, some of the documents overlap (e.g. can be covered by passport/EEA national identity card).
Mandatory documents
These documents are mandatory and you must provide them as part of your application. Tick the box to agree that you will provide each document: (Required)
1) The passport issued by (Applicant's Country) for (Name of Applicant)
Other documents
If you do not provide these documents, your application may be delayed or refused. (Required)
2) (Name of Applicant)'s Life in the UK Test pass notification
3) Proof of living in the UK for (Name of Applicant)
If you are an EEA National, you need to include letters from employers, educational establishments, or other Government Departments indicating your presence in the United Kingdom during the relevant period.
If you are an Non-EEA National, you need to include your passport to prove you have lived in the UK for the past 5 years (3 years if you're married to, or the partner of, a British citizen).
If you don't have your passport, or it wasn't stamped when you entered the UK, you need to include letters (for example, from your employer or government department) as proof.
Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you've been living in the UK.
4) Two referee declarations for (Name of Applicant)
5) (Name of Applicant)'s evidence of identity
You must include one of the following:
* your passport
* your national identity card
* your Home Office travel document
* your Home Office entitlement card
* your Home Office ARC letter
* your BRP card
* your birth certificate
* your driving licence
You must include evidence you have legally changed your name if it is now different to the one on your supporting document.
If you took the Life in the UK Test and used one of the above documents as evidence, you should use the same one here.
6)(Name of Applicant)'s proof of Nationality
You must include your:
* passport or EEA national identity card
* UK permanent residence card
* evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions
You must have a permanent residence card before you can apply for citizenship Apply for a permanent residence card.
I can also see that the requirement for English language test is not present on my application as I have shown my degree for my Permanent Residence. Might be different for other applicants.
Thank you,
I go through this website daily for guidance , so its only fair to share my exeperience with others who may get help from it.
my current Timeline at the moment :
I submitted my online application on christmas eve
On the 27th - day after boxing day, i registered my biometrics at the post office, posted off my supporting documents and also received an email from HO confirming receipt of application.
Although it is not specifically requested in the online application, it is requested on the AN guide which the online application still refers you to. i would say still attach it to your supporting documentation and just highlight that you used it in your application for settlement.
let us know how yours goes.
The letters from employers will be sufficient if they are based in the UK. They don't need to state you were present in the country. I had one employer letter stating that I work for them, no issue.Oskar wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 1:45 pmhello,
thanks for all this information below - it's very helpful!!
I am currently in the process of completing the online application and am not clear about two additional things:
1) can i print out the documents to be signed by the referees before submitting the form?
Given there is a time limit (15 days) between submission and sending of documents, I'd rather have them ready - referees go on holidays etc.
Cannot answer this one as I haven't used the on-line system - someone else needs to clarify.
2) re evidence for lawful residence, it states to provide "letters from employers, educational establishments or other Government Departments indicating presence in UK"
I am an EEA citizen and when I applied for my permanent residence card I have asked each of my previous employees to provide letters stating the dates when I was employed. Those letters do not explicitly state that I have been "present in the UK". Will I need to approach all my previous employers again and have them add a sentence to those letters?!?
