Travelling to an European country while Spouse Visa Appeal is pending

Post by Appeal32011 » Tue Dec 19, 2017 6:40 am

Hi,

I applied for a spouse visa from Nigeria, but my application was refused for overstaying. I appealed in July (2017)- I'm now waiting to hear back from HO. In the meantime, I've been discussing with my wife- who is a British citizen- about the possibility of traveling to an European country for a brief period to maintain our relationship and also mark the anniversary of our wedding. We plan on going for 3weeks, and I have 3 brief questions:

1) Will this travel have any impact on our appeal?

2) Will my spouse visa refusal have a negative impact on my application for a visit visa to an European country? What are my chances of getting the visit visa?

3) Can you suggest any European country to travel to ?

If the form for a Schengen visa asks about any previous refusals, you would have to state your spouse visa refusal. Can this affect your EU visa application, yes it might.

Your appeal has nothing to do with applying for a Schengen visa.

You would need to find which EU country you want to go and see what the visa requirements are.
