Hi,
I am on a Tier 2 general visa for the last 4 years and have just one year remaining for ILR.
On 31st December ... I was notified by my sponsor/employer over the phone that my employment has been terminated with immediate effect as the company has filed for insolvency. I also received an email from my sponsor with the notice of termination attached.
The email mentions that there will not be any further payment of wages made to be by the company and I have to approach the Redundancy Payments Service for any payments / arrears due to me. I am currently due to be paid for the month of December.
I wanted advice on the following:
i. Considering that I am on Tier 2 general visa ... will the RPS entertain my claims?
ii. How much time do I have in the UK to seek out another sponsor? What are the home office regulations for a Tier 2 general employee in the case of a sponsor terminating the employment?
Any help /advice in this regards will be highly appreciated.
