ILR And marriage

Quick question, sorry if answered before. My partner, who is a Canadian national, received ILR in April 2017. We are now engaged to be married, and are planning to do so in Canada.

I don't believe this has any impact on the ILR, but do we need to notify the Home office of this fact? the plan once married is to then proceed with the UK Nationalisation process so that she can eventually apply for British Passports etc.

What is your current status?

No need to notify HO unless "she?" changes her name as then she would need to update her foreign passport first if she wishes to have citizenship granted in her married name.

All assuming it is a she and you are the he.

Thanks for the replies, yes, I am a He, and British Citizen, she is Canadian, currently with ILR.

She can do one of two things.

1. Marry and apply for citizenship and British passport in her maiden name. Then do a deed poll to change her name, update her Canadian passport and then reapply for a British passport.

2. Marry, change her name on her Canadian passport and once received, immediately apply for British citizenship and passport (assuming she meets all the requirements) in her married name.
