Baby Born in UK ILR or Citizenship after parents ILR

Post by bhoru » Mon Jan 08, 2018 10:45 pm

Hi Friends,
My baby is born in UK, we have his "India" passport and Tier 2 PBS dependent Visa.
Just wanted to know that once I have my ILR in 1.5 years time. What would be the process for my baby, will he require ILR as well or can he become British citizen ??

question/doubt because currently we have his "India" passport and Tier 2 PBS dependent Visa and I can apply ILR in 1.5 years.

anyone with similar case here??
any advice highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bhoru

A UK born child DOES NOT require ILR to register as British.

Once EITHER parent is granted ILR, you can register the child under Section 1(3) of the nationality act which is an entitlement to register.
