Wanna visit France with my Pakistani wife...

I've done quite a bit of research on this but I keep getting conflicting answers from different places. Below is the story, could someone please tell me if i need to apply for a visa for my wife and what type of visa i need...

I am a British citizen, born and bred in London. My wife is from Pakistan. She has been in the UK for 4 months now through a spouse visa and I wanted to take her to Paris for a week. I've read where some people say because I'm travelling with her she doesn't need to do anything. other posts say she does need a visa. its all getting a bit confusing really.

Your wife will need a French Schengen visa.
