Morning all
I’m new here and I’m looking for some advice
Short story: I’m a EEA national and when I took the language test I have used my passport as form of ID. Now, I will have to submit it with my application. (I still need to take my life in the uk test tho, which will be done by the end of the month).
What worries me is that my passport expires at the end of March 2018 (and we all know that the application might take up to 6 months).
I think I’ve got 2 options here and wondering if anyone has had the same situation as mine:
Option 1: I will submit the application and I will send the original passport and whenever it will be returned I will contact my embassy to get renewed.
Option 2 (this is what I would like to do however not sure if it will be ok): I would renew my passport now and I would use the NCS so they can copy both my passports. The question is: the Home Office will probably see that the ID used for the IELTS test has now been renewed (in this case the passport) - will they accept the old passport and the new passport as a valid form of ID?
Anyone has experienced this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
