Tier 2 SOL mistake (extremely urgent please)

Post by Ali2006 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 2:31 pm

Hi Everyone.

I am currently switching my Tier 4 visa to a Tier 2 (General) Visa. However, I have made a mistake on my application, where I have selected my job as one of the job listed in the shortage occupation list, which actually my job and CoS is not. This resulted of me paying 446 GBP instead of 677GBP. I have done the biometric and sent out the documents as well on 17th January.

Now I'm stressing out all day cause my home lawyers and solicitors are suggesting that just write a cover letter saying there was an error and you have attached a cheque of the difference balance i.e. £231 and get a supporting letter from university to add it and just post it. However, my sponsor is suggesting because I still have time before my Tier 4 expires, is just to lodge a new application without cancelling the 1st one. And then send out a cover letter saying because of the error you have made a new application and this is in variation to 1st application and all my documents including passport is sent already with the 1st application and add the reference number for that.

Now I am worried which is the best option? And should I lodge a new application with a new CoS or not (sponsor is ready to provide a new CoS for it)? Or just not do anything and just send a cover letter with a cheque? This is really stressful and I'm really lost. I have only until Monday 22nd January to decide after that my tier 4 will also expire and I cannot lodge a new application anyway. Will lodging a new application complicate things?

Please can you all guide on this matter?
Thanks

Hi,

I would be really grateful if you let me know what the outcome of your visa application was? My friend has made the exact same mistake.

Thank you.

He/she varies his/her application and success. See below -

______________

Hi All,

So due to an error on my original application for Tier 2, I had made a variation application and sent with copied documents referring to the first application with which my original documents and passport were sent.

I have now received a letter from home office saying my visa is approved and also received my BRP with the documents which I sent with variation application. However, I still haven't got my original documents or passport which was sent with first application.

So should I write them a letter asking for it saying it's missing or should I wait for them to send it? What usually happens in this kind of scenario?

Thanks
