End of Durable relationship EEA EFM Extended Family Member

Post by chusa » Wed Feb 14, 2018 10:51 am

Hello

I am a US citizen and got a 10 year permanent residence through my Swiss partner. We are not married, and were in a 'durable relationship'. After I got the permit our relationship ended and I moved out. I have questions:

1. Are either of us, or one of us, required (by law?) to notify UKBA about the change of circumstances?

2. Is my permit still valid if the relationship ends?

3. WHat happens if I leave the country, and how long can I go away for?

4. Is there anything else I need to know?

As you have secured Permanent Residence, the breakdown of the durable relationship will have no effect on your status.
