Ok, reason I asked is if you were BC and then child was born, then you could have probably registered them as BC.

No you cannot. You can only have a visa dated 3 months in advance and you have to specifically ask for that.

Hi Finally I ma resident in UK my wife and son (under 18) will apply fro family settlement from İstanbul using form VAF 4A.

1) Are they going to apply separately using two VAF 4A form?

2) My sons school is ending on 1/6/2019. After applying next week , if visa is granted, do they thave to arrive to UK and start living there immediately?. Of course when application is granted they will go for Biometric process in one month. They will move to UK permanently about 8 months later but they will be keep travelling to UK till 1/6/2019. Is it Ok?

Thnaks in advance

1. Yes, 2 separate applications and 2 separate Appendix 2
2. No idea what you are talking about. They have 30 days to enter UK. The whole point of settlement visa which you are applying for is to come here to settle. If they dont want to settle right now then maybe apply when you want them to settle.

You can apply next year maybe around March or April so that when application process finished then your sons school also gets finished. Otherwise travel UK within one month, collect their BRP then travel back home until June 2019 and such absence wont affect anything.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Hi Sorry for being unclear.
I would like my son to apply as under 18. Problem is when he finishes high school he will be nearly 19.
Can I apply before he is 18 and when granted he comes to london and do biometric process and go back to Istnbul to finis his study. When study is finished he will come to london anyway.

Thanks a lot for the advice. In order to follow immigration rules I want to make clear one detail.
By the time my son finishes high schoolin Istanbul , which is the date he can move to london he will be nearly 19 and he will lose his right to apply as under 18.

Can we apply a year before with mum when he is under 18 ,when granted they can come to biometric process in london and go back to Istanbul to complete his high school.I am sure tduring the last year of college they will visit me feew times in London apart from Biometric visit.

Is there a restriction that after your visa is approved you have to stay in UK minimum period of time?
If you dont will your aplication be cancelled or they will add extra period to be eligible.

Problem is if we move to London before he completes high school in Istanbul and finding a new one in london is very complicated because different educational systems.

Thanks
He will be 18 around 14 months before he can move. My problem is if he leaves last year of High school in Istanbul and move to london it will be difficult to find a Uk school because of different education system.

After visa is granted is there a max leave duratioon from UK?
If you leave more than reurired time to stay, do they cancel your application or do they add extra time for eligibiliy time required by home office.

Thanks alot

He can enter UK to collect BRP and then leave for Turkey again. There is no limit to how long you can stay abroad, but if he isnt here for a long time then it will be harder to get the visa renewed in 2.5 years time.

You have to weigh which is more important college or UK settlement. He can possibly come when his older being sponsored by a company for example.

Leave it to you.

I'd personally say anything more than 6 months and Home Office would be wondering why did someone apply for a settlement visa for UK, which was granted, has then decided not to settle here. You can explain your situation to them when it comes to arrival, and if it's valid reason they will take it into consideration. In terms of study, they may question studies could have been continued in UK.

Something tells me this isnt just about college related, but whatever you do make sure you are well informed that once he hits 18 whether here or not it is much much harder to settle in UK.

Only you can decide what to do now.

Thank a lot youve been great help all the way. If I am not wrong he my son and my wife should stay minimum 6 months ayear in UK after visa is granted.
Meantime we are in contact with UK 6th form schools.
It is clear thay they will apply from Istanbul seperately using two VAF4A forms. Sİnce my son is under 18 will include exactly the same financial appendix concernin my finances for both applications. Except that my wife owns a property and gets rents in london. Regards

I am filling VAF4A + Appendix II. I am not sure how to answer following 3 questions. Please help me to understand. If my inquiry is against board rules please let me know. Thanks
Question 1.27 Appendix 2: Does you sponsor have any children..
Do I say YES and mention our son?
Question 1.18 Appendix 2: Have you lived with you sponsor in a relationship akin to marriage
or civil partnership at anytime..

I assumed they are asking about my husband I answered YES and explained how
we shared time together

Question: Is you sponsor's partner your mother or father?
I did understand my sponsor is my husband. I am his married partner..
Thanks a lot in advance
