Cash Savings for ILR set M

Post by JVRM36 » Sun Feb 18, 2018 4:27 pm

Hiya,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice for using Cash Savings Cat D to meet the £18,600 income threshold for Set M ILR visa application please. We think we have enough savings in our ISA account at the moment to meet this threshold from our work savings, and we have held this savings for more than 6 months. We have already requested 6 months of bank statements to prove this as well. (bank said they dont normally supply regular
Statements for ISA) But i am confused with one of the requirements from the home office saying that “the funds must be lawfully derived”. I guess my question is, how do we evidence this? Do we need to go
To a Conveyance solicitor to check through
Our accounts and give us a certificate?

Thank you, also, we are planning to include
My husbands earnings from self employment as well which is more complicated to evidence but we thought we’ll include it in case they find any probs with Cat D or vise versa.

I have been experiencing panic attacks just because of this as ive read a lot of people getting denied for small silly things. We are opting for the premium service as well
As i realised that I’ve already stayed for more than 60 months from the day i arrived in England and we have a month left before my visa expires.

Thank you so much and i really appreciate any advice from anyone!

If you have the required amount of savings (I am not sure whether this is £62,500 or less as some advise)in an account that can be immediately accessed, and which have not dropped below the required level for at least the past six months, I would stick with that. Including earnings from self employment might only confuse the case worker. We have applied twice with savings and will do the same for ILR next year. On each occasion we each wrote a statement that the funds had been derived over years and gave details of my husband’s job and position to explain how we accrued those savings.

As to panic attacks, I know the feeling! The longer you are here, the more settled you become and the more difficult it would be to leave. Just make sure that you submit the correct documents in the correct format, all originals unless certified.

Have you already booked your PSC appointment? Some people are having problems getting an appointment but it is advised to keep logging on to see what becomes available.

Thanks for the response!

I read the calculation for the Cash Savings Category D, apparently for the ILR application you only need to have at least £34,600.00 in the bank available (£34,600 - £16,000 = £18,600) to meet the income threshold compared to the Entry Clearance & Leave to remain which is the £65k. I guess we'll just have to prepare for the declaration of funds letter to back it up, and hopefully there shouldn't be any problem with this.

I was actually panicking because of the Booking service having no available slots for the rest of the month and on March, but I managed to get an early appointment in Birmingham which i have to pay extra £75.oo. I was actually shaking of nervousness while booking this appointment as I was worried that the page will suddenly refresh and show the "no available booking appointment for the next 45 days" which has happened to me 4x already. It was tough but I managed to get one!

Thanks JVRM36 for your post. As I assume, you received your ILR some time ago. Can you please advise on the requirements for declaration of funds letter. Who has to prepare it, an accountant or miself? Thanks a lot.
