Fiancé Visa - Need Advice

Post by AbhishekX » Thu Feb 22, 2018 12:13 am

Hi All,

Summery: Basically i am from India and my Fiancée who is a UK Permanent resident is from Poland, We known each other for over a year and work in the same company but only met twice in person when i visited her in UK (4 months gap between 2 trips), We got engaged recently on my second trip and want to apply for a fiancé visa for me so we can get married in UK (Family route).

My Questions:

1. I have only copies of my fiancées documents not originals is that ok or do any of them need to be certified ? ?

2. Below is the list of documents, will they be enough ? (any suggestions on what more i could add to make my case stronger ?)

Sponsor proof of identification:
1. Copy of Passport
2. Copy of UK Driving License
3. Copy of Permanent Residence Card

Proof of financial support:
1. Cover letter - Explaining relationship and finance support
1. Original payslips (6 months)
2. Original P60
3. Signed sponsorship form SU07

Proof of accommodation:
1. Copy of tenancy agreement
2. Copy of council tax

Proof of relationship:
1. Register office appointment letter (Confirming date and time we wish to get married)
2. WhatsApp, Facebook messenger logs for 1 year
3. Pictures (Selfies Only, we are not fond of taking pictures)

Note: I already have already cleared IELTS A1 and will do my TB certificate this week.

Any sort of advice is appreciated, we want to apply to apply soon as possible.

Why not get married abroad and apply for a family permit under the EU rules?

HI CR001,

In theory that does make sense but doesn't this make it more complicated?, I mean which country?, won't I have to apply for a visa again anyway?, to keep it simple we decided to go for UK do you think we have a chance?

An application via the EEA route Family Permit (once married) is free and no requirements to be met like English and Financial.

A fiance visa costs £1464

Wow I wasn't aware of that, but your right since my fiancée is a EU citizen I guess it's possible for us to get married anywhere in the EU right?, but I am assuming I still have to apply for a visa do you have any suggestions on which country we can apply for a visa?, and one last question if we do decide to go through the fiancé visa do you think we have enough documents to satisfy the immigration officer? And will I need my fiancées original documents/certified documents or copies will do?

Thanks again.
