Family visitor visa enquiry

Hi everyone,

It's alittle complicated to explain but I'll try my best:-

I will refer to the applicant as "My mother" for easier explanation, but really she is my wife's mother. My wife is a Yemeni Citizen who I married in Saudi Arabia and is now on a spouse visa in the UK with me (I'm a British citizen) - not really relevant, but I thought i'd mention it just incase it is.

"My mother" (55yrs - Yemeni Citizen but resident in Saudi Arabia) is looking to come to the UK to visit her own mother (80yrs - British Citizen). The main reason behind the visit is that her mother is quite ill (proof from doctor's available) and she hasn't seen her in-person for a long time and she fear's that due to her mother's illness, she may not have a chance again in the future. She did enter the UK in the past, but it was a very long time ago and her English is not strong as she resided in Saudi Arabia the majority of her life.

I assume she would need to apply for the "Standard visitor visa", but I do have a few questions:-

- "My mother" lives with her husband and other daughter (30 yrs old), she wants to bring her daughter with her. Does her daughter need to apply separately or can they both apply in the same application? (Her daughter does not work and lives with her mother).
- "My mother" has no bank account, and she lives in a rented apartment which is under her husbands name and paid for by her husband in-cash. She does not work (housewife).
- "My mother" intends to live at her mother's house during her stay (paperwork can be provided by her mother).
- "My mother" has two brothers, and three sisters of whom are all British Citizens and live in the UK.
- "My mother" will also see her daughter (my wife) whilst she is in the UK.
- "My mother" residence permit in Saudi Arabia expires in 1 year, and her other daughter's permit expires in 5 months. They both seek to come to the UK in 2 months time for 1 month visit.

What kind of proof does she need to provide to...
- show that she can support herself and any dependents? (all money is in cash)
- show that she will return (other than having a return ticket)?

I would appreciate any advice and if you could point me in the right direction. I would like to help her out as she doesn't understand much english,
