a few questions about ILR

Post by haq81 » Tue Feb 27, 2018 3:29 pm

Hi folks,

I have to say I was very happy to have found this forum because I had some questions that I could not find the answer for and I am applying for ILR in a weeks time, and I have to say its quite nerve wrecking.

- Question 6.2 on the form states to list all the absences made from the UK since you first entered however short or long. What qualifies as an 'absence'? Do i have to mention even if i left the country for a couple of weeks? Or does an absence means spending more than a specific amount of days outside the UK?

- Question 6.3 asks to provide evidence to support the reason for absence. what evidence can i provide for a reason of holiday?

- I am applying after 6 years of discretionary leave. I read somewhere that people applying for ilr through discretionary route do not need the English Speaking Evidence. Is that correct?

- I will be using the Premium Service. Is it possible to pay in cash when at the centre on the day of my application or is has to be processed before?

ALL absence, regardless of duration, as it clearly asks.

Not applicable to you. The form does say it is for the Tier visas does it not??

Correct.

No you cannot pay 'cash' on the day. You have to pay online when you make your appointment booking.

All absences outside the UK need to be stated, regardless how short they where.

my understanding is, you would just write just that, a holiday if that what it was.

- I am applying after 6 years of discretionary leave. I read somewhere that people applying for ilr through discretionary route do not need the English Speaking Evidence. Is that correct?

yes, it is correct, click this link here for further reading,

no, in fact when you book your PSC appointment, you will be required to pay upfront for the application and PSC charge before it is successfully booked, you will also have a 30 minute window to book it, otherwise you may lose that date.
