I am a silent member on this forum and I am delighted to share will all of you that my Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Extension application was granted on 28 February 2018.
My timeline is as follows:
Application was posted to UKVI on 9 June 2017;
Application was received at UKVI on 12 June 2017;
Application fee was deducted on 13 June 2017;
Biometric letter was received on 16 June 2017, the letter was dated 15 June 2017;
Biometrics was completed on 16 June 2017;
‘Exceptionally Complex’ letter was received on 20 June 2017; the letter was dated 19 June 2017;
Contacted UKVI on 12 January 2018 for an update on my application;
Received email response from UKVI on 12 January 2018 stating that a decision is yet to be made on my application;
Received partial IHS Refund on 16 January 2018;
Contact UKVI on 29 January 2018 for an update on my application and was told that another referral cannot be added;
Complaint made to UKVI on 31 January 2018 regarding the delays in processing my application;
Received a call and email from the Compliance Team to confirm a Home Office visit at my business premises for an interview on 12 February 2018;
Interview was conducted by a member from Compliance on 12 February 2018 at my business premises;
Received a final response regarding my complaint on 28 February 2018, which also confirmed that a decision had been made on my application;
Received confirmation letter on 1 March 2018 that my application has been granted, yet to receive BRP Card and other documents.
I had requested UKVI to email me a copy of my interview record.
Please find the list of questions that I was asked during the interview:
Background Questions:
1) How long have you been in the UK?
2) Can you give me a brief history of your immigration status while you’ve been in the UK?
3) Have you worked for any employer or business other than your own business whilst you have held leave as a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Migrant?
Business Experience Questions:
4) What previous employment and business experience do you have to enable you to run your own business?
5) What educational and professional qualifications do you have that are relevant to your business?
Business Development Questions:
6) What is the full name of your business?
7) What is the nature of your business?
8 ) Who are your customers and what goods or services does your business provide them?
9) When did you incorporate or set up your business?
10) Does the nature of your business require you to have registered with an appropriate authority? If so, what regulatory bodies have you registered with and can you provide evidence of this registration?
11) What is your role in the business?
12) What equipment, materials and software do you use when providing services to clients or customers?
13) Please describe an average day at work for you from start to end.
Market Research/ Advertising Questions:
14) What market research did you carry out before deciding to invest in your company?
15) What were the results of the market research you carried out?
16) You have moved your business from ABC location to DEF location. Did you carry out any research into existing businesses before deciding to locate your business in an area? Can you describe the results of this research?
17) How much have you spent on advertising your business?
18) What forms of advertising have you used and where have you advertised?
19) Do you have a business website? If so, what is the website address?
a. When was the website set up?
b. What information can be found on your website?
c. How much traffic does your website drive?
d. How much custom has your website attracted?
e. When did you last update your website?

20) What are your business service according to your leaflet provided with the application?

Funding Questions:
30) Where did you get the money from to invest in the business?
31) How much money have you invested into your company?
32) Can you provide detailed breakdown of how and when you invested the money into your company?
33) You have provided your unaudited management accounts for the period DD Month YYYY to DD Month YYYY. What administrative expense did the business incur in this period?
34) Can you give a breakdown of how much was spent for each of the following categories?
a. Employee wages,
b. Travel and subsistence and
c. Rent
35) What was your operating profit for the period DD Month YYYY to DD Month YYYY?
36) How are you going to increase your profitability? How has this been going?
Contract/Client Questions:
37) How many clients do you have and what are their names?
38) Can you provide the address and describe the business premises for your clients?
39) Can you please show me the email correspondence, invoices, contracts and receipts between you and your clients?
40) Can you provide a detailed description of the services you provided to 2 of your other clients?
41) What was the outcome of the work you carried out for your clients?
42) Can you provide the name of the business directors of each of these businesses?
43) Can you provide the address and describe the business premises for each of these businesses?
44) Can you please show me the email correspondence, invoices, contracts and receipts between you and these companies?
45) What is your pricing structure for some of the key services that you offer?
Employee Questions:
46) How many employees do you currently have and what are their job roles?
47) What roles do your employees have in your company?
48) Are they still working for you? If not when did they leave and why?
49) Can you provide documentation for your employees?
50) How did you employ each employee?
51) How much per hour do you pay each of your employees?
52) How did you recruit your staff and what qualifications do they need to carry out their duties?
53) Were any of your employees known to you before you employed them?
54) Can you explain what rights your employees are entitled to under employment law?
55) Have any of your employees joined the Work Place Pension Scheme? If not why not?
56) How much annual leave is an employee entitled to take each year?
57) Can you describe all the checks you have undertaken in order to establish that your employees were legally able to work in the United Kingdom?
58) What address does your employees work from?
59) Do any of your employees work from home? If so:
a. How do you manage your employees if they do not work from specific site?
b. How do you keep in contact with your employees?
c. What are your employee’s addresses?
d. Where are client’s personal details stored and how do you transfer information between employees securely?
60) Where are your employees today and what work are they doing for you?
61) How do you keep in contact with them and can you contact them by phone so that I can speak with them and ask them about what they are doing for you today?
