Adding dependent to Ancestry Visa

Post by rdi21 » Sun Mar 04, 2018 1:25 pm

Hi

I am about to start Year 3 of my ancestry visa.
My partner is American and his visa will be ending soon. I am wanting to know how difficult it is to add him as a dependent to my ancestry visa while we live in the UK and if he would still be able to work.

Thank you in advance.

What visa is your partner currently in the UK on? When did he arrive in the UK?

Have the two of you resided together for at least two years in a a relationship akin to marriage (joint bills, bank accounts, etc)?

He has been here for close to 4 year.
We have been together for less than a year, however live together with shared lease, joint accounts, bills etc.

What visa does he currently hold??

1 year living together (if not married) is unlikely to result in a successful dependent visa being granted.
