Hi,
Quick question for a friend. He is on a dependant visa (tire 2) and in full time employment. He applied for a job and was offered the position as a perment employee. However when he sent his brp to the new employer they said they can only offer him a fixed term contract because his visa is due to expire. He argued that the visa will be renewed for another 2 years and then they qualify for indefinite leave.
However HR have come with the following response:
“FTC to end of June to be updated to the end date of your renewal in May when you bring us the new visa. Lastly when you have indefinate leave to remain again show HR the visa update and they will change contract to permanent”
Do you think he should still accept the job, he is worried about leaving a permanent role for a 3mths FTC even though they sought of guarantee it will be renewed
