Hi,
Me and my wife got married in India in June 16. I am a dual national British & Indian, she is Indian. I brought her to the UK on a 30 month spouse visa in July 17. The relationship has deteriorated to the extent that I am now in the process of initiating divorce proceedings in India. My wife is currently with her family in India. As of Jan 18, I lost my job and do not have an income.
I would now like to curtail the Spouse Visa as we are not/and will not be living together in the UK, therefore I will no longer be able to sponsor her. From researching online, I have understood that I must inform the Home Office that the relationship is now ending/ended.
In order for the Spouse Visa to be curtailed, does the Home Office require evidence confirming the divorce in India is finalised e.g. official Indian divorce papers? Or will they immediately curtail the visa upon receipt of a letter from me, the sponsor?
Thanks.
