Post by sahidpatel22 » Fri Mar 23, 2018 2:42 pm

Hi All,

Just needed an advice for one of my friend.

Basically

He came from India on a work visa he fall in love :) and he married to European Union citizen girl.
they both were living together and unfortunately girl had a cancer and sadly to say that she's passed away because of her illness .
Now the Boy is still in UK and he had his permanent residency 2 years ago.
He then married to a girl who lives in canada and she's canadian citizen.
Just wanted an advice of How to bring the girl on spouse visa.

Q1. Does the boy have to earn 18600.00 a year to bring his partner over ?
Q2. Does he have to go through the same process as British Citizens do ? (His BRP says Citizen of A family member of A Union Citizen)
Q3. How much the fees costs (some ppl says its same as British but some says Union Citizens dont have to pay that much )

Please if anyone can give us brief advice it will be greatly Helpful and much appreciate.

Thank You

Q1. Does the boy have to earn 18600.00 a year to bring his partner over ?
Yes. He can only sponsor a spouse through the UK immigration rules. Only EU citizens can sponsor non-EU spouses.
Q2. Does he have to go through the same process as British Citizens do ? (His BRP says Citizen of A family member of A Union Citizen)
Yes, the UK Immigration route spouse settlement visa.
Q3. How much the fees costs (some ppl says its same as British but some says Union Citizens dont have to pay that much )
£1,464 (goes up in April) PLUS £600 Immigration Health Surcharge.
Char (CR001 not Casa)

And your friend would have to attach the death certificate of his ex-wife too.
