Spouse Visa (English Language)

Post by dcot78 » Fri Mar 23, 2018 3:32 pm

I am going to apply for my wife visa in few weeks and I am confused about English language requirements.

According to Gov.uk website

"You can prove your knowledge of English if both:

you have a degree or academic qualification that was taught or researched in English
your qualification is recognised by UK NARIC as being equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree
 or higher
You’ll need to send a certificate from UK NARIC confirming this when you apply".

My wife has done a Bachelor (Hons) degree in Pakistan so she still needs to take a English test or degree can be useful ?

Is it possible UK NARIC certificate can be used instead of doing ielts etc ?

Degree was taught and researched in English and letter can be taken from University.

Your help will be highly appreciated, Many thanks

Either UK NARIC certificate red or IELTS A1

Probably easier and quicker to just do IELTS A1.

Cost to obtain Naric comparability letter and English test is almost same so better to do the test but make sure that test is strictly of recommended type at approved centre as defined in HO list.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

A1 for applications outside the UK.

A2 for spouse visa extensions within the UK.

Thanks for your reply.

Someone has told me that you can do B1 or IELTS Academic for UK Visas and Immigration and this will be also helpful for future extensions. Which one is better or which one do you suggest that can also be beneficial for future extensions ?
