HELP! Varying an FLR(FP) Visa to an FLR(M) visa

Hello,

I am originally from the US but have been in the UK for 1 1/2 years now on a student visa.

I applied for an FLR(FP) visa on Feb 3rd 2018 by the advice of an Immigration lawyer. I did not meet all the requirements yet she told me to submit this and then later vary it when I did.

Now, my partner and I are married and meet all of the requirement of the FLR(M) visa. I would like to now vary my existing application to this but the Home Office doesn't provide much assistance or knowledge in doing so.

I was wondering if anyone had done this before (with varying any application) and could offer me any advice on how to submit this new application.

Also, if anyone had any information on how this affects the timescale of receiving a decision.

I have read this already. Do I just write a covering letter explaining the situation and put my case number on it? As they already have my passport, bio metric permit, and supporting documents.

Also, do I fill in the payment section again or no? As the cost for both applications is the same.
