ILR + Naturalisation

Post by mfleming » Fri Mar 30, 2018 9:56 pm

Hello,

Thanks for all the great information on this site! If anyone would be kind enough to help me, I would be very grateful.

I am married to a British Citizen and will be applying in-person for my ILR shortly. After receiving ILR (assuming it is successful), I believe I satisfy all the requirements for naturalisation and wish to do so.

How soon can I apply after an in-person application? In theory, since I think the approval would be on the day, could I not do both at once (and save a day off work, journey, keep my documents, etc.)?

Kind regards,
Michael

There is no fast track/in person route for the naturalisation application. You'll have to go the usual routes, paper or online. Decisions can take from one month to six months.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
